I did a double process with Henna and Indigo to achieve a black on my husbands’ dark brown hair, who wanted extra conditioning, and wanted to get rid of dandruff that has proven to be very stubborn.

Here is what we did:
I stirred up 150 grams of Ancient Sunrise henna and a mildly acidic liquid the night before (for both of us) and let that sit for 12 hours. I then took about 25 grams of that and put it in the fridge (for another 6 hours), and used the rest on my hair, because my husband was busy with work. When he was done I put the 25 grams from the fridge on his very short hair -1inch - wrapped his head in cling wrap and let that sit for 2 hours. The result was a beautiful rich dark chestnut brown.

I then stirred up about 30 grams of Ancient Sunrise indigo and water and let that sit for 30 minutes, it looked cool when it had released the dye. It was very purple with turquoise under it. It was very messy and difficult to get it into my husbands’ hair, it kept dripping and flying about, but I got it all on. I then wrapped his head up again, and let that sit for 30 minutes.

His hair is now a darker brown, with reddish highlights in the sunlight. He is very happy with the conditioning he got from it, and appreciates that there isn’t much difference from his natural hair color and the dandruff is gone, not a flake!
